Dujardin 2 C

As a fitting finish for Individual Dressage, Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro were crowned back-to-back Olympic Champions.

Their fierce rivals, Germany’s Isabelle Werth and Wiehegold OLD, rode last in the order but had to settle for Silver.  Teammate Kristina Broring- Sprehe and Desperados won Bronze, and Laura Graves of the USA with her beloved Verdades had a spectacular ride to place fourth.  Laura and “Diddy” tried their hearts out to record the first Individual Dressage medal for the US since 1932. They are our heroes regardless!

Dressage gained some new fans today as many people in the NBC studios came up to me afterwards saying Equestrian is their new favorite sport to watch.  I told them to stay tuned for the Jumping coming up next!

Wednesday’s Equestrain schedule is live on NBC from 1:00 -1:35 ET airing the last part of Round 1 – Team Jumping.
